Spring break has officially begun for me, and I am already thoroughly enjoying the time off. My classes this semester are more focused on the physiology of the organ systems, which generally makes for interesting lecture material, but it also requires a slightly different thought process than I am used to. As a result, I got off to a slow start as far as test scores go, but have been slowly improving as the semester progresses. I will say though, that my dad's encouragement and support (pun intended) in one very important subject area have been a great help, as one of my courses is definitely coming easier than the others. Thanks, Dad!
Today, Erin and I saw the cardinal that was living in our backyard last summer for the first time since before winter. I am going to go out on a limb (Mr. Hoekema would be proud) and say that means spring is just around the corner. I am anxious to start jogging outside again, so warmer temperatures will be very welcome.
Erin is still struggling to get over a cough she has had for almost a week now. She has tried every cough suppressant, expectorant, and antitussive on the market and nothing seems to touch it. The worst part is, she has been coughing so much at night that she (and I) has trouble falling asleep. She worked last night and is working tonight so maybe she will at least be tired enough to get some good sleep tomorrow morning. Regardless, please pray for a quick recovery.
While my to-do list is relatively short for the next week, I do need to write a proposal for the research project I hope to work on next summer. The project is tentatively titled "Effects of Intracellular Prosurvival Signals on Spiral Ganglion Neurite Growth." I'll let you know how that turns out.
We are looking forward to seeing some of you on in Des Moines on Monday. Go Wolfpack!!

OK Jon, we're stumped. You're going to have to give us an explanation.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I thought at least dad would be able to figure that one out. Reread his comment about my studying, then maybe it will make more sense.
ReplyDeleteOh, support......I get it. Glad you got a passing grade! Mom
